Core Meaning

Noun + にとって means 'for' or 'from the viewpoint of.' It does not mean physical benefit only. It marks the person or group whose perspective matters.

In opinion pieces, にとって is a key signal for perspective. When you see it, ask: for whom is this good, difficult, or meaningful? This prevents vague translation.
