Invitations with ませんか
Invite someone politely with 〜ませんか and respond naturally to invitations.
Core Invitation Pattern
Although ませんか looks negative, in many beginner conversations it works as a polite invitation meaning 'Won't you...?' or 'Would you like to...?'
いっしょに えいがを みませんか。
Would you like to watch a movie together?
ませんか makes a soft invitation, not a negative statement.
土曜日に こうえんへ いきませんか。
Would you like to go to the park on Saturday?
The time phrase sets up a specific invitation.
コーヒーを のみませんか。
Would you like to have coffee?
Coffee invitations often use this fixed pattern.
