Sentence 1
授業が終わると、あやは駅の近くの図書館へ行きます。
When classes finish, Aya goes to the library near the station.

この図書館は新しくて、とても静かです。
This library is new and very quiet.
Sentence 3
入り口の右に大きい地図があり、左に小さいカフェがあります。
There is a big map to the right of the entrance, and a small cafe to the left.

あやは日本のれきしの本を読みたいので、二階の読書室へ上がります。
Because Aya wants to read a book on Japanese history, she goes up to the reading room on the second floor.

でも、さがしている本はすぐに見つかりません。
But she cannot find the book she is looking for right away.

あやは近くにいる図書館の人に「すみません、この本はどこですか」と聞きます。
Aya asks a library worker nearby, 'Excuse me, where is this book?'

図書館の人は「三番のたなの上にありますよ」とやさしく教えます。
The library worker kindly tells her, 'It's on the top of shelf number three.'

あやがそのたなへ行くと、青い本が二冊あります。
When Aya goes to that shelf, there are two blue books.

一冊は少しむずかしいですが、もう一冊は写真が多くて読みやすいです。
One is a little difficult, but the other has many pictures and is easy to read.

Aya chooses the book with many pictures and sits in a seat near the window.

しばらくすると、友だちのみかが来て、「となりに座ってもいい?」と聞きます。
After a while, her friend Mika comes and asks, 'Can I sit next to you?'

みかは来週テストがあるので、漢字のノートを持ってきました。
Because she has a test next week, Mika brought her kanji notebook.

二人は一時間ぐらい勉強して、分からないことを小さい声で話します。
The two study for about an hour and talk in small voices about the things they do not understand.

五時になると、みかは「少しつかれたね。下のカフェでココアを飲みませんか」と言います。
When it becomes five o'clock, Mika says, 'We're a little tired, aren't we? Shall we drink cocoa at the cafe downstairs?'

あやも「いいね。その前に本を返してきます」と答えます。
Aya also answers, 'Sounds good. Before that, I'll go return the book first.'

外へ出るころには、空はオレンジ色で、駅前の店には明かりがついています。
By the time they go outside, the sky is orange, and the shops in front of the station have their lights on.
