Why the て-Form Matters

The て-form is one of the most important building blocks in beginner Japanese. Many high-frequency patterns depend on it, including 〜てください, 〜てもいい, 〜ている, and action linking.

たべる → たべて

eat → eat and / please eat / eating

The same て-form supports many later grammar patterns.

みる → みて

see → seeing / please see

みて is the regular ichidan て-form.

くる → きて

come → come and / please come

きて is the irregular て-form of 来る.
