Sentence Lab

「質問してもいいですか」

May I ask a question?

This polite question asks permission before asking something.

午後に会議があるので、窓の近くの机です。

Because there is a meeting, it is the desk near the window.

Grammar notes

〜たいです

Verb stem + たいです says what the speaker wants to do. Use it for an action; it is different from wanting an object.

資料を会議室に置きたいです。

I want to put the documents in the meeting room.

〜ので

A clause + ので gives a gentle reason. It often sounds softer and more explanatory than から.

午後に会議があるので、ここに置きます。

Because there is a meeting in the afternoon, I will put it here.
