土曜日の花だん当番 story text

Sentence 1

土曜日の朝、あやは学校の花だんの当番で早く来ました。

On Saturday morning, Aya came early because she was on duty for the school flower bed.

Sentence 2

校門の前でゆいに会って、二人で先にバケツを運びました。

At the front gate, she met Yui, and the two of them carried the buckets first.

今日は天気がよくて、空もとても青かったです。

Today the weather was good, and the sky was also very blue.

でも、花だんの土は少し乾いていました。

But the soil in the flower bed was a little dry.

あやはまずじょうろに水を入れて、小さい花から水をやりました。

一年生の男の子は初めてだったので、ゆいがやり方をゆっくり説明しました。

みんなでしばらく働くと、花だんの色が前より明るく見えました。

When everyone worked for a while, the color of the flower bed looked brighter than before.

そのあと、あやは新しい土の袋を倉庫から持って来ました。

After that, Aya brought a new bag of soil from the storage room.

重かったですが、友だちが手伝ってくれたので、すぐに運べました。

二人はきれいになった花だんをもう一度見てから、うれしい気持ちで家へ帰りました。

The two of them looked once more at the flower bed that had become clean, and then went home with happy feelings.
